A striking new adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is touring the world and Ambient Film Production had the sincere pleasure of collaborating with Old Deerfield Productions (now Egg Tooth) on their groundbreaking new stageplay this past summer. The origin of this unique project started with one amazing location: The First National Bank in downtown Greenfield, Massachusetts. A towering decades old abandoned bank now used for art, performance and education. Upon seeing the interior Linda McInerney (the project’s director) immediately knew that the space was destined for only one classic. And never was there a better laboratory for the disturbed doctor. The “creature” is played by Lindel Hart (who also adapted the novel for the stage) and Court Dorsey plays Victor Frankenstein (as well as three other roles including Elizabeth, William and De Lacey). Jane Williams plays the always observing Mary Shelley. The 200 year old tale is given a modern modification with the help of design/projection and videographer specialist Florian Canga, who provides panoramic video and animation which guides the story along and enhances the drama. The following 24 minute documentary brings the viewer face to face with the bizarre locations and haunting characters of this timeless tale.
